Heather Williamson is a manager with CCET. With roots in rural Minnesota, she earned her master’s in public health degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, specializing in maternal and child health. Prior to this, she completed dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and genetics. Her research experience spans several fields, including genetic screening for newborns, effects of tobacco use on brain health, sexual health among college students, and various health topics at the University of Utah. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and skiing, nature photography, and spending time with her husband and their cat.
In her role with the CCET, Heather has expanded her knowledge of community engagement within research and utilizes her public health skills to collaborate with researchers on a multitude of different projects. In particular, she has developed strong individual and group facilitation skills, growing as a leader in community engagement best practices and conducting training for research teams. She continues to oversee management and strategy development for the CCET while delivering engagement services to researchers.
