FY25 Call for Applications
Objective: By offsetting fees associated with Utah Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) services, this Service Voucher Program aims to support investigators at Utah CTSI partner sites conducting innovative research advancing human health.
Voucher Amount: Eligible individuals may apply for one voucher per year up to $5,000 to offset the costs of CTSI services. The voucher must be used within one year of award.
Due Dates: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until June 30, 2025 (or funds are depleted or within core voucher caps are met).

Applicants must meet ONE or more of the following criteria:
- Investigators at the Utah CTSI partner sites University of Utah, Intermountain Health, University of Nevada-Reno, Salt Lake VA, or Utah Department of Health and Human Services, who meet the NIH definition of Early Stage Investigator:
- Has completed their terminal research degree or end of post-graduate clinical training, whichever date is later, within the past 10 years and who has not served as PD/PI (including MPI) for a substantial (≥$250,000/year direct costs) independent research award.
- Any individual actively funded on the Utah CTSI K12 Early Career Development Program or CTSI STARS T32 Pre/Post Doc Program.
- Investigators at Utah CTSI partner sites Association for Utah Community Health and Comagine may have different paths to research and are eligible if they have not served as PD/PI (including MPI) for a substantial (≥$250,000/year direct costs) independent research award.
- Investigators at the Utah CTSI partner sites University of Utah, Intermountain Health, University of Nevada-Reno, Salt Lake VA, or Utah Department of Health and Human Services, who meet the NIH definition of Early Stage Investigator:

The voucher program covers CTSI services provided by the following units:
- Biomedical Informatics Core (e.g., data management and integration, software engineering)
- Community Collaboration & Engagement Team (facilitated community engagement, e.g., interviews, community advisory boards, focus groups)
- Cellular Translational Research (e.g., extraction, stem cell generation, biorepository)
- Clinical Research Unit (e.g., protocol nursing, exercise physiology, body composition)
- Translational Research: Implementation, Analysis & Design (TRIAD) Team Before applying for a voucher with TRIAD, please work with your TRIAD contacts to determine if other funding mechanisms apply before submitting to this voucher program.

Please note that the following CTSI services are currently provided at no cost to all investigators:
- Design Studios (consultations for research projects, grant applications)
- Clinical Research Support Office (monitoring & quality assurance, investigational drug & device IND/IDE support)
- Study Collaboration & Opportunities (clinical trial opportunities, connection to the Trial Innovation network)
- Research Ethics Services (education, consultations and support)
- Practice Engagement & Translation (strategic partnerships for community-engaged practice research)
- R01 Writing Group (comprehensive, 6-month program to support development of R01 or equivalent application)
- Peer Grant Review Program (anonymous pre-submission review from at least one reviewer following NIH review criteria)
