A major goal of the BMIC is innovation in clinical and translational research informatics and advancing the science of performing research.  Innovation is a key priority of the BMIC, and information technology is critical to advancing the conduct of clinical and translational research.  BMIC aims to leverage technology along with informatics methods to advance cohort identification, recruitment, biospecimen management and other critical aspects of clinical and translational science

The Biomedical Informatics Core (BMIC) of the Center Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) provides comprehensive clinical and translational research informatics support to researchers through a variety of means, including education, consultation, and service delivery.  Mr. Madsen leads the team of informatics and IT professionals who provide support services to individual scientists. Through his leadership skills Randy ensures BMIC is guided by effective communication, business strategy, enterprise software architecture, service management delivery. 

Randy is responsible for the technical and customer support operations of the Biomedical Informatics Core (BMIC) supporting the informatics platforms for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS).
