REDCap is an easy to use, self-service application subsidized for University of Utah research needs by the Clinical Translational Science Institute. Thus, all users must first register their projects / study in ProTrackS. Please visit the ProTrackS page to register the study and obtain a CTSI ID.

Request REDCap Support by creating a Service Ticket

The CTSI is funded in part by an NIH CTSA award. When utilizing one or more of the Insititute's resources, each publication, press release, or other document about research supported by this award must include an acknowledgment of NIH award support and a disclaimer e.g. "Research reported in this publication was supported by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences of the National Institutes of Health under Award Number UL- 1TR001067 for period 5/1/13–3/30/18 and UL1TR002538 for period 4/1/18-2/28/23.

REDCap provides automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), as well as a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading, and calculated fields.

BMIC Support Services for REDCap Self-Service Projects

The service component of the BMIC provides resources and services for the planning, implementation and on-going support of translational research. This service focuses on supporting a defined set of applications which are applied across multiple domains to more effectively support the needs of the University of Utah research community. Our software applications are designed to be easy-to-use, self-service tools. But if you need help, the BMIC team offers free support*** services for these applications.

Service Desk Ticket

If assistance is needed after referencing the knowledge base, please submit a REDCap, TriNetX or OpenSpecimen Service Ticket. One of our REDCap analysts will respond to your support request within 24 hours. Assistance is expedited if you have first registered your project in ProTrackS and obtained a CCTS ID.

Knowledge Articles

Due to the high volume of support requests received by the BMIC, users are encouraged to reference the Knowledge Articles as a first resource. The documents are thorough and allow you to pace your learning in conjunction with creating your project.
