CTSI & Institutional Support

Preparation of Grant Applications*

The SDBC uses institutional support to provide a discounted rate of $120 per hour for grant applications that provide funding for PHR members.

  • In most cases, funding for SDBC support of grant applications is covered by support from departments and research groups which have funding relationships with the PHR. Additional subsidies may be available for grants of strategic importance to the institution or the CCTS, subject to approval by the CCTS leadership.
  • Discounts will be applied after DSS# (OSP Proposal ID number) are confirmed by the SDBC.

* PHR faculty support without charge the preparation of grant applications that are connected to their own research activities and their duties as faculty members within their research groups.

Subsidized Support for the VPCAT, EDGE and CCTS Training Programs

  • CCTS and institutional funds are used to provide 30 hours per year of SDBC support without charge for VPCAT scholars, EDGE scholars, CCTS students, and other active CCTS trainees.

Subsidized Support to Improve the Rigor and Reproducibility of Research

Research groups with funding arrangements with the Study Design and Biostatistics Center (see Payment Options) will receive targeted support from CCTS and institutional funding without additional charges.

  • This support includes:
    • Quality control procedures, including double programming, to improve research reproducibility,
    • Short consultations with PHR methodological experts beyond the core team assigned to the project
    • Development of new methods or tools for clinical and translational research which are disseminated to the broader research community.
  • The SDBC prioritizes randomized clinical trials and projects with a potential for high impact for additional quality control, and projects with high methodological complexity for expert consultation and methods development.

Please alert your SDBC team to any high impact (high usage) projects.
