Use of REDCap Skyrockets in 2020
Covid and the year 2020 introduced much change into our world and the way we worked, connected and performed clinical research. REDCap played a key role in supporting University of Utah researchers. REDCap was utilized in over 130 Covid related projects providing researchers the tools needed to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic quickly and efficaciously. When clinic and outpatient visits plummeted due to Covid, researchers used REDCap suveys and the use of e-Consents to monitor public health and continue their investigational studies.
Throughout 2020, dozens of University of Utah Health leaders, faculty, and team members implemented innovative studies to make advances in the care of the communities and people we serve, and advance discovery and education. REDCap supported the University’s goals to continue to thrive for health education and scientific discovery.
In the last year, Utah’s CTSI REDCap has seen a surge of new users and projects testifying REDCap’s flexible functionality, as well as the determination and support offered by the BMIC staff to provide services and support.
