Summer Research Program for Undergraduates from Historically Black Colleges & Universities
The Utah CTSI’s Biomedical Research Inclusion & Diversity to Grow Excellence in Science Undergraduate Program for Historically Black Colleges & Universities (BRIDGE UP–HBCU) seeks to recruit, train, and retain a diverse translational workforce.
This transformative 10-week summer experience combines research, hands-on experience, and mentorship. The program provides opportunities for HBCU students to develop a holistic mentoring relationship with a University of Utah faculty member and gain research experience in clinical and translational research. We want our students to be able to take part in driving innovation in research modalities that ultimately create more equity and reduce health disparities.
The BRIDGE UP-HBCU program is funded by an R25 Grant (R25TR004388) from the NIH’s National Center for Advancing Translational Science.
