The Metabolic Kitchen - Comprehensive Nutrition Services for Human Research

The Utah CTSI is proud to highlight the Metabolic Kitchen—a state-of-the-art resource designed to support innovative human research across the University of Utah. Established in 2023 through a collaboration between the College of Health and the CTSI’s Clinical Research Unit, the Metabolic Kitchen offers comprehensive, fee-for-service nutrition research support to all university investigators.

The Metabolic Kitchen can provide study design consultation with a registered dietitian, nutrition assessment, custom menu development, precision meal preparation, and advanced dietary analysis using research-grade software. With a fully equipped professional kitchen and expertise in delivering tightly controlled diets tailored to study protocols, the Metabolic Kitchen supports both dietary interventions and the use of diet as a controlled background variable, enabling rigorous, reproducible research across a wide range of disciplines. Investigators are invited to learn more by visiting Metabolic Kitchen website or by contacting the Metabolic Kitchen Director, Rachael Jones: rachael.jones@health.utah.edu.
